Glenn Archer currently serves as the Executive Director of the National Fusion Center Association (NFCA), where he represents the interests of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recognized Fusion Centers. Before assuming the role of Executive Director, Mr. Archer served as Deputy Director of the NFCA for almost four years. Mr. Archer also serves on the Board of Advisors to numerous corporate clients, advising in the areas of intelligence, homeland security, justice, defense, and manufacturing.
Prior to the National Fusion Center Association, Mr. Archer served as the Executive Director of the IJIS Institute (Institute), representing over 150 technology companies in the justice, public safety, and homeland security communities. As the Institute’s Executive Director, he increased membership value, doubled the sustaining membership program, and developed new programs to provide support for the organization.
Mr. Archer was also co-founder of the Institute and served on its board for five years, holding the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman.
Mr. Archer also served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of LHD Systems, Inc, an innovative design and manufacturing firm of vending machines. Under Mr. Archer’s leadership, LHD, a venture funded company, established sales and marketing operations in the U.S. and European markets, developed a manufacturing facility in Minnesota, and raised over $5 M through private sources.
In February 2000, Mr. Archer founded The Templar Corporation. Working with the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), The Templar Corporation began the development of sophisticated data integration solutions with a single purpose in mind: to improve public safety and security agencies’ capabilities to share information. Under Mr. Archer’s leadership, Templar products supported over 100 federal, state, and local government agencies. Mr. Archer and his team sold Templar to ChoicePoint in February 2004, where he continued as ChoicePoint’s General Manager of the Templar Division and Corporate Vice President of ChoicePoint Government Services.
Prior to founding Templar, as the Managing Director of Advanced Technologies at ISX Corporation, Mr. Archer was responsible for several information sharing initiatives and advanced concept technology demonstrations for U.S. Department of Defense agencies. He provided senior level consultation services to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency on various information technology programs for the Information Systems Office and external agencies such as the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), U.S. Air Force, U.S. Joint Forces Command (JFCOM), and U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM).
Mr. Archer served for over 15 years in the Virginia Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force Reserves as an F-16 pilot.
Mr. Archer is a graduate of the Academy of Military Science and a TopGun at the U.S. Air Force’s Undergraduate Pilot Training Program. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University.
He resides in Alexandria, Virginia, with his wife Jennifer and their two children.
