Mike Malloy is a seasoned professional with 10+ years of experience as a Deloitte management consultant, sunglasses startup CEO, and startup incubator program director. Mike possesses a unique blend of technical expertise, interpersonal communication skills, and emotional intelligence. He seeks to leverage his experience, network, and diverse skill set to add value in leadership roles in the DMV entrepreneurial ecosystem. Mike serves as an Adjunct Professor and Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Georgetown University.
Mike is committed to changing the world by supporting the next generation of social entrepreneurs. In his role as Halcyon Incubator Program Director, Mike manages the day to day operations with the social entrepreneur Fellows. Mike efficiently and effectively plans, prepares, and executes the programming for Halcyon Incubator’s pitch sessions, skill series, mentor relationships, advisor office hours, kickoff events, final showcases, and semi-annual application process. Mike engineered the application process for 5 cohorts with 40% YoY applicant growth from 167 to 427 global applicants.
Prior to joining the Halcyon Incubator, Mike was the CEO of Waveborn Sunglasses, a for-profit social enterprise with the mission to improve how people see the world. For 5 years, Waveborn sold luxury Italian sunglasses with polarized lenses and donated a portion of profits to support the global eye care community. Mike has experienced many ups and downs during his entrepreneurial journey since he began his career at Deloitte Consulting.
Malloy holds a Master’s in Computer Science from Georgetown University and Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from Boston College. He also serves as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence and Men's Ultimate Frisbee Coach at Georgetown University.
